What's the difference between a 4.6 f150 engine and a 4.6 mustang engine?

What's the difference between a 4.6 f150 engine and a 4.6 mustang engine?
I am kinda new to the forum and this is probably a dumb question, but what is the difference between a 3v 4.6 f150 engine and a 3v 4.6 mustang engine? are the parts interchangable, if so shouldn't a supercharger kits for a mustang fit on my f150 I have a 2005 supercrew. I may be totally off on this, can anyone help out here?

parts off the mod 4.6 motors will swap on from the 99-04 gt's but the new f150 motors are 2v, not 3, and the new 3v are diffrent heads and probably diffrent in other ways to that i am unaware...but as far as my research goes is the same parts...i think the f150 has a diffrent intake manifold, tb, throtle system, but i am pretty sure the motor/heads are the same, as well as the exhaust ports, however clearances may differ, the alt. may also be diffrent as we need a more powerful battery. if you want to get crazy go and swap the 4v heads in!

Triton va modular 4.6
The triton 4.6 just dont have the power a truck should have. With that, I like my 4.6 but it's sick from a dead pull. What was ford thinking when they could have put the modular in the F150. Can anyone tell me if the bottom end is forged or cast iron. My knowledge may be off pertaining to gas engines, coming from the diesel F250 for many years I gotta play catch up on these engines. Thinking about SCT programmer and if its safe for the bottom end and ETC.

No expert here but the Mustang 4.6 stock internals with Hypereutectic pistons & rods can hold up pretty well until the 430 + HP (fwhp) range then they will disintegrate eventually...depends on your abuse of them.... and no detonation allowed! So just a blower addition & a new tune & it will be fine! I know of several Roush Stage 3's with high miles doing great still, no problems.

wrong engine size on dealer sticker
just bought a 2004 f150,dealer sticker said a 5.4 motor.The fan shroud showed belt diagram for 4.6/5.4,so I put a thread up asking how to be sure what it was.Man,did I get some flack for not "knowing" what I bought.I did get some good advice and called a ford dealer with the vin,turns out it's the 4.6.I don't plan pulling anything heavy,but would appreciate some feedback on how this motor does on gas and such,thanks.

Joebob, the boys here do have fun at times. As I have never touched either engine, I think you have a very valid question. What is the difference between the two engines? I think I know, its a stroke thing. Any physical appearance differences? Like the 302 and the 351W. OK boys have fun with me.
