I just bought my 04 SCREW bout 2 weeks ago and when its time for an oil change. I'm using Amsoil Engine Flush and then using 5w30 Amsoil. Planning on still changing oil every 15,000 miles though BUT I will change my oil filter every 5,000 miles

Extended oil change intervals are only OK IF YOU CHANGE THE OIL FILTER IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES.

I have a friend of mine who has over 400,000 miles on his 99 chevy van, He changes his oil every 25,000 miles BUT he uses AMSOIL 0W30 and he also has an AMSOIL Remote DUAL Oil Filter Bypass sytem. He changes the filters every 12,000 miles. And the van is still on the original engine, doesnt use a drop of oil! and runs like a brand new van!
I'll tell ya what. Tell that to ALL the thousands of VW and Mercedes owners who's engines sludged up due to extened oil changes. DON"T DO IT!!! I know you are an "Amsoil Dealer" and you like to be able to tell people you can god umpteen thousand miles without an oil change. There are more problems than good with that. I don't make money off of selling oil I don't have stock in any oil company. I have real world expierence. I am an intelligent person. I do research. The average person will forget to change their filter between these umpteenthousand mile oil change. Alot of ppl will forget to change their oil period because of the umpteen thousand mile change. 5000 miles on synthetic and 3000 on standard oil is perfect. It conforms to ALL manufacture specs. and all is good.

Well to each his own i guess.

But good synthetic oils have PROVEN THEMSELVES. I put over 200,000 miles on my 1992 Honda Civic that I have owned since it had 12,000miles. I have used synthetic amsoil since i got it and changed the oil every 12,000 miles.
I eventually damaged the engine but it was only because I ran it too lean because of a BIG *** TURBOCHARGER.

With conventional motor oils and Crappy sythetics like castrol or valvoline synthetic Yup 3,000 and 5,000 mile intervals are fine. But once you start paying $9.00 a quart for motor oil, there is a reason for it. IT IS BETTER!

Ask any truck driver how often they change the oil in their rigs. Better yet ask them how often they change it when they use a GOOD synthetic oil.
Yup, their engines are designed to last 500,000+ miles. But with a good synthetic oil they can last over 1million.

Check out WWW.AMSOIL.COM
See for yourself,

And if the engines in the VW's and Mercedes sludged up, It was because they were using an INFERIOR SYNTHETIC OIL. A HIGH quality synthetic will not do this. AMSOIL WILL NOT SLUDGE UP. Because of the fact that it has a PURE SYNTHETIC BASE

Sludge in engines come from a number of things, But a majority of sludge comes from the Oils Base product. Most oils have a Parrifin base. Which is WAX. Figure out why parrifin based oils sludge up.

I'm actually not an amsoil dealer but the company I work for is. I've never been to an amsoil seminar to learn how to sell it and honestly I probably never will. But I do know from experience that it is a far superior oil to others. Paying more for it is worth it IMO.

I'm not arguing with you btw. LOL Just getting my 2pennies out there.

I did a quick search just for kicks and grins. All the ones that said Amsoil beat Mobil 1 were Amsoil sites. Now I am not saying one is good over the other I honestly dont know. That is just what I found. I worked on big rigs I know how long they go. I also know they do what is the best thing they could do for an engine and leave it running all day. They dont drive 3 miles and shut it off or stay in stop and go traffic all the time. They can go extended mileage that way.
I have a 'Stang with over 150,000 HARD miles on the little v6 I run conventional in it just because I expect the motor to blow up due to how hard I drive it. The damn thing keeps going and going.
I have Mobil1 in my truck and my Wifes truck. Hers has over 100k on it. I had a pinto that went 300k with conventional oil. I had another Mustang that the engine went 250k with conventional oil. So high mileage on a engine does not impress me. What does is how clean the engines are when I do maintenance like VCGs or look down in them with a bore scope.
I still say if you have an engine failure and you walk into Ford, Chevy, whatever and tell them "I use synthetic and change my oil ever 15,000 miles they will void your Warranty no matter how many times you changed the filter. I have already been thru that with a dealer. Mobil 1 an be had for about 6.50 a quart around here so 40 dollars for a 5 quart LOF with filter is not excessive every 5000 miles. I am done with this discussion before it turns into an argument.

Darn, I just pulled out the popcorn and got a front row seat for this one

I believe Ford would also void the warranty for running the wrong weight too, but don't forget they did just extend the oil change intervals to 7,500. I am a believer that oil is a cheap insurance to longevity. Ford is doing mine every 3K under my maintenance contract until I reach 3yrs-35k. Then I'm going to Mobil 1 like I run in all my cars and change it every 5k.
I did read a test on Mobil 1 where they used until 18k, they tested it every 1k and it showed good until it reached that point. I posted it in another thread.
I can't see Amsoil being that much better than Mobil 1, and Mobil 1 is easily ready to get at Wally World.

I don't see why anyone would even push and oil change back. To me what is 40 bucks at most every 3-5 thousand miles instead of risking thousands of dollars in repairs that could have been avoided. I just don't see why anything that MAY lower the life of your engine as something to toy around with and push the limits of. Oh well, either way i will continue to change my oil every 3k on the dot.

We have used AMSOIL for the past 4 years in all out motors. I just have not switched over my F150 since I just got her in Marh and she has only

miles on her.
