Transmission Compatibility
I bought a Truck as a project to bring back to life...
Transmission is bad and cant afford a rebuild so pulling one out of a junk yard.
My truck is a 99 Ford F150 4WD 5.4L Transmission type 4R-70W
I'm having a hard time finding a F150 transmission so want to consider other fords that may fit...
I know 97 to 03 are similar but can anyone tell me what other type of ford transmissions will drop right in with no modifications????

Would a Ford Expdition??? or ford Explorer match up???
So far my research has been conflicting about a Ford Expedition transmission fitting into a Ford F150...
