what would be ideal is to be able to drive a f150 with 4.6 that is turbocharged then drive one that is supercharged.... then a person could really see what they liked best. I dont live in a really large area so i do not know if that would be possible for me... but when and if the money and time comes ill be searching to drive them and see.

Hey guys,

Among all superchargers, I know the difference between a supercharger and and a turbo-charger, but what is a pro-charger then, I mean cause they look just like turbo-chargers and look like they work the same way, so what's the difference between those two? thanks

a pro charger is just a supercharger its just not on top of the engine. still runs off the belt. so it still robs power and mpg.

people talk of a supercharger robing power and mpg... how technical are we getting here? the gm 3.8's are geting good mileage for a large car and i have not heard one person say they hate there supercharger. Yes i do understand it takes power from engien to run a supercharger but how much power? I have not heard people complain that coming off the line is horrible etc. Now dont take this the wrong way I am just asking questions to get to a relative idea of things. I would chalk it up to it depends on how you drive and if you pull anything.
So what I am curious to see is someone with experience chime in and give some real data on what conditions a supercharger is gonna be beter and what conditions a turbo is gonna be better. I am not against either one.

yes a supercharger does take power to run it but you gain so much hp and torque you come out ahead in the end
