in these trucks you cant just turbo it and go...

you need to do tuning, turbo kit, bottom end work at the least, and a beefed up tranny....or its going to be blowing one thing at a time until you have replaced all those things....

go check out mmr, and go research tranny swaps....4r100 is nice or a beefed up 4r75w.... level 10 and dirtydog performance are both highly recomended to me from others for my project...

whats your budget...

it really bothers me to say this but also ford bottom ends arent really known for being excessively strong. they can be but you gotta buy some things... One of my far away plans, due to funds is a supercharger... but i do not want to half hazardly do it... probably looking in the neighborhood of 10K to do it right... rods, main bearings, etc.. all the goodies..id rather over do it in building than to have to rebuild... redundance sux. plus everything blackbetty said below is also true.... any trans can be built to take the punishment but some trans come stock that will take it... if a person has the money ,,,,have one built... then you know what you got.

i agree and disagree...look up mod motors...some can be built for low money and some, like me, chose to go all out if im going to do something...after deployment ill have money to burn so why not right?

plus i forgot to regear it for added performance..

also the 4r70 is a sad tranny...not for us guys...nor for performance means....screw building one when id take a 4r75 stock over a beefed up 70

i have to be honest i do not know ford tranys at all.. i go back to gm trannys and a 700r4 can be built within reasonable monetary amounts and an take alot of abuse.... i know the fords once you ontroduce an overdrive you pretty much loose 50 to 70 hp right off the bat from flywheel to rearend. but i do not know what ford rearends are built ford tough and which ones arent.

superchargers are less efficient and not all s/c deliver instant power...
