Default rattle from under truck

Check the muffler. They have a baffle plate that can rust or break loose from vibration. Same symptoms in my truck and that is what we found.

Did the baffle plate vibrate at certain times or always? Is it on the outside of the muffler underneath?

I replaced both front actuators the other day and dont you know the noise continued. Still sounds like the same sound another guy posted that ended up being his actuators. But this has been going on for a while now and and when we pulled the front hubs they appeared in great shap with no signs of any grinding that occurred.

It seems to be prone to happening when truck is under a load going up a hill but if I am driving on a regular level road it will also do it if I give the engine a lot of gas (but then will stop the second I take my foot off of the accelerator)

Also when out troubleshooting the noise yesterday I had both drivers and passenger windows down and does not sound like it is coming from one side of the truck like I originally though but instead directly under the center of the truck

I'm sorry to hear that... It sucks when you think you got it fixed and the problem continues. You can check the exhaust with a rubber hammer or block of wood, start at the cats and work your way back, that might let you know if something is loose. My work truck had a rattle, turned out to be the cats coming apart. I also had a rattle in my truck that drove me nuts.. It turned out to be a piece of gravel stuck in between the y-pipe and the heat shield. I felt pretty dumb after I figured that one out.
Good luck,

So.... working at my firehouse tonight and had to try some more troubleshooting...... went underneath with a rubber mallet and started tapping away to see if I could see something loose.

When I tapped the transmission skid plate I heard a rattle - all bolts looked tight then when i looked further there are about 6 drain holes through the plate.... 2 of the holes had rocks in them but were in there real loose only coming halfway through. Popped them out and found another 6 or so rocks on top of skid plate itself.

I am praying this was causing the noise.... removed them all tapped again on it and sounds solid. The thing that stinks is I am working at the firehouse until tomorrow morning so i cant leave to go and test drive and put my mind at ease so it will have to wait until the morning.

Let's cross our fingers, And hopefully that's all it was... But look at the bright side, you know your four-wheel-drive is working right.
If you don't mind, let me know if that took care of the problem

Bummer! I'm running out of ideas... Does it have the stock exhaust? Has it been running hot, or loosing power? I'm leaning towards cats.... Maybe the baffle in the muffler.
