Catylatic Converters
I have a 1998 Ford 4x4 XLT w/ 4.6 Romeo edition engine. I have been told that I can cut them off and put straight pipe on and have no problems...THEN, I have been told that the check engine light will come on. Anyone done this yet? If it's only a check engine light I don't really care...nothing black tape can't hide! Also I was recently driving my truck and was going along fine and then all of a sudden the temp gauge shot up all the way and the oil light came on and the truck lost pretty much all it's power and sounded like the engine was about too fall out of it. IF I turn the truck off and start it again everything goes back to normal. Any ideas? My engine already sounds like crap from the lifters in the right rear of the engine...I'm kind of just driving it until it dies so I can switch out the engine.

You'll need some O2 eliminators so your PCM will have some kind of reading from the rear. Check these out: http://www.americanmuscle.com/stmilel.html
