Never heard of them but knock the compressinn down to 9:1 for pump gas. I have a friend that does Fords who owns a competition service.

@ Kaboom, No, i need that compression for running on LPG, also with this compression it should still work with 95 octane (as i have been told)...

Do you mean you have a friend who also builds performance engines?

If you're gonna use LPG then it will be fine but you'll be running Turbo Blue on the street with a carb and that comp ratio.

Randy Malik of RMCompetition. I used to work with him at holley carb and he built my race V6 I drove on the street. Google his name.

I am a bit confused now...
I am hearing to many different things concerning compressionratio's. I would like a setup that wil run good on LPG as wel as normal 95 octane.

What compressionratio works best with running both?

Please help? Because it would be very costly to change compressionratio in a later stage...

Thanx!

9.0-9.5 CR is about all you want to run on available pump gas. We ran 12.0CR in our race engines that had TurboBlue race gas fed to them. Running 9.5CR and LPG you can run a more aggressive spark curve to get power. I run my spark that way on my 5.4L 4x4. 6000lb truck that burns the tires.

Nope. Those days are behind me. I make power with my laptop now. There's a ton of reputable engine builders in this country. There are books galore to tell you what to do. You just have to follow the procedure to get it right. No skipping and no short cuts. My first full race street engine was done while reading a book. I even got my partner involved in helping me. It's not rocket science. You can order all the parts and have the needed machine work done along with having them install cam bearings and new cup plugs in the block if you don't feel ez about it. From there it's just measuring everything to make sure it fits right. There's better technology in components like bearings, rings and head gaskets than when we did our engines. The multi layer head gaskets are great. That's how I could afford my race/street engine. We were working 7 days a week to get the Ford account to make MLS head gaskets for the first 4.6L prototype mod motor at McCord gasket.

I am working on the components (still) and have a question on the engine imbalance.
My enginerebuildguy says i must use a 50oz imbalance strokerset because i use a AOD. Most strokersets are 28oz. When searching the web i come across a lot of 28oz 302 strokers with a aod, en never read anything about why i should chose one or the other imbalance. The engine to be rebuild is a '88 302, so has 50oz from stock, but if i replace the crank ant the flexplate for a 28oz imbalance would that not work? or is the enginerebuildguy right en does a aod, that used to have a 50oz imbalance engine in front of it, not work properly with a 28oz setup?

Thanx in advance!!

Sjoerd
