Default querstion.

I have a 2006 F150 with the 4.2L V6 and the auto trans.

if i were to swap it to a 5 speed, what would be the appropriate transmission (model) and where would i be able to find everything i need? Like Clutch pedals and stuff to modify the interrior.

Has anyone done a swap like this on these trucks? and if so how difficult was it to get everything working right?

Dude... Go to an insurance auction and keep an eye peeled. Even salvage yards. These V6 trucks are starting to climb WAY passed the 100k mile mark and I am sure that companies have killed their fair share of them.

As for what you will need... Obviously the tranny, the TCU, the wiring harness, the driveshaft, possibly the rear end.

yeah thats what i was thinking but i would rather have a newer transmission or at least one that doesnt have more miles than the motor. since this isnt a necessary swap, only preference. (the truck has less than 40k miles)

Well even if the trans had 20k on it, I personally would rebuild it before I put it in anyway since you never know how that 20k miles was driven on it.

NTM- You have it out already... Why wait to see if something happens after you install it to rebuild?
