My 99 5.4 is putting out the code P1451 and i understand that it is a canister vent solenoid circuiut failure. However, I dont know which exact part in the circuit failed. i believe it may be the solenoid itself, but am not sure. Does any one hav eany info or hav ethey had this problem

Don't have any 5.4 info, just some basic stuff, take an ohm meter and measure resistance. At this time specific value isn't required, just continuity. Good or bad. If an ohm meter isn't available then take 12 volts and actuate it.

I would first check the wiring to the canister valve about 6 inches back for a break.
