Question 05 5.4L Problem

Hello Guys!

I am a newbie here and I need some help. I have an 05 F150 5.4L. It has about 44000 miles on it and I haven't had any issues with it until yesterday morning. I was pulling up to a stop sign and the engine cut off. I cranked it back up and tryed to go and all it would do is creep. The service light was turned on the dash. I managed to get it off the side of the road but that is about it. When you pressed the gas it would not get over about 1000 rpms no matter whether the transmittion was in P, D,2,1. I shut off the engine, and it had a little trouble getting cranked again like it wasn't getting enough gas but once it fired up it has been running fine.
Any ideas on this?

Pull the engine codes. I am willing to bet you are going to have some sort of throttle position sensor or throttle body code. These can be a pain to diag and if you have not messed with throttle by wire ya might want to take it to Ford or a shop that has dealt with it before.
