Default my brain has melted!!!! P0308 code

I have a 2007 F150 5.4 it has a P0308 code I have put a new set of coils all 8, plugs all 8, injectors all 8, and a new upper intake complete assembly.

after no change I swaped the #8 one at a time the coil, plug, and injector with #1 and the P0308 code always comes back within 5 miles

the truck runs amazing as long as your not in high gear at 40mph -65mph if so it goes to shaking and jerking

has anyone has this issue and found a resolution, Thanks

i had the same problem last summer, i was at my wits end, and stumbled across a forum post here and they were talking about the "fuel pump driver module" i had changed plugs, coil packs and even injectors for several cyclinders, nothing changed as yours is doing....the fuel pump driver module, mounted near the spare tire on the chasis, has an aluminum housing, and mounted directly to a steel rail, can accumalate road grime, and what happens is the housing begins to corrode, allowing the computer chip inside that controls fuel pressure to not be regulated correctly, thus allowing the misfire code as you are having. i but a few whasers under the new fpdm and spaced it from the chasis and cranked her up and have not had a problem since. i spent a ton of money before i bought this $128 part, and wished i had found this out to start with. i have no problems now.....by the way i have 2006 5.4 screw 4x4. at wot it would start bucking, skipping, whatever you want to call it. under a load it would do the same thing. around 40-45 mph same thing. the truck ended up not wanting to crank and kept throwin 308 and 305 until i replace the fuel pump driver module.

as you can see in the photo, the spare will have to be dropped to access the fpdm. the plugged part in the top left of the photo
hope this helps

Im sorry I did go off the deep end a little I loved my F150 but there come a time when you have to think to your self like an ex-wife how many time are you willing to fix thing how much money are you willing to spend and how long are you willing to deal with it. I had a lot of good time with my truck but after all I have done to it tranny, transfer case, reax axle, gears, bearings, seals, front hubs 3 times, calipers, rotors, plugs 3 times, coils 2 times, upper intake, replaced the navigation/radio, ect just to name a few I had to sit down and consider the value of the truck vs the cost of replacing the motor, ac compressor, and manifold lines. If I was to spend $10,000 in repairs on a $12000 truck and if I decided to trade it in or sale it then I would take a loss so fixing it was out. I had my dreams set on the new 6.7 Ford F250 but after reading the reviews I was not happy with tranny reviews and I was defiantly going to go with a diesel I have owned dodge and was not going back there again and chevy was the only option and the reviews on there 6.6/Alison was great so I jumped ship I will admit my stomach cringed when I signed the dotted line but after a day I was very impressed it still hurts when I think of trading my F150 and admitting to joining the chevy family but I’m sure over time it will grow on me like I said I’m happy with the 2500hd and have no regrets. I will remove the previous post I was just caught in the moment thanks for the help and support guys

Odd that you had SO many problems with your F-150. I got a 2004 EXplorer with 105,000 and have had no problems at all. And I am not easy with it.

Wonder how your feel about your chevy when it is as old as your F-150. Their all real nice when their new.

Well I can't blame you for being angry after all that. Not sure how all those problems occurred though, I have had good luck with Fords. I had an 87 crown vic with a 302 and 200k miles with minimal issues and a Explorer that was one of the recalled ones for the firestone issue ( Exploder) which I had 250k miles on and all I had to do was change the diff cover it rusted through and re charge the AC once.

My 05 FX4 is lifted and I beat the crap out of it in the mud all the time. I then do lots to take care of it like checking/changing fluids and seals and such. Nothing on the truch has gone bad I didn't break and I haven't broken much but the fan shroud and got water in the alternator. I had a front hub go bad but that was cheap Advance parts not Fords fault. I had to go put new hubs in when I put the lift kit in. Figures the old one probably would have lasted longer LOL.

Any way Hope you escape maintenance issues for a long time in the future.

I actually had my F150 approved for a lemon law return but the part they don’t tell you is I would have had to give them my truck pay the depreciation and mileage $5000 to have them replace my truck with a stock truck of the same year make and model and looking back I should of went for a F250/350 for the extra heavy duty but I’m sure the 6.0/6.4 diesel would of sent me for a loop also. But it sure was pretty LOL
