I know that's a lot of information but it's well worth the read.

Aren't the GF5 rated oils backwards rated for former years of manufacture which perty much makes all of this a moot point. Just buy a edge syntec synthetic or Mobil 1 brand types except for diesel ?

If you actually took the time to read it, then you wouldn't have asked that question. GF5 is a talking point after you have a grasp of Oil.

Using a GF5 in a modern motor is a no brainer.

Lets see, lubrication of a motor isn't all about PSI, it's about oil flow. GF5 according to the manufactures flow the best and give the best lubrication creating the best fuel mileage. All the average owner needs to know is use the right specified type/rating.

Not meaning to cause a riff, just put the owner where he needs to be. Not confused.

So tell me about oil used in a LPG fueled vehicle. By the way it thickens just by running the motor.
What planet are you from? I suggest you go back there.

I did a quick Google search and this guy and these exact oil articles have been around since at least 2005, probably longer.

Dr. Haas may be a physician and surgeon. And he may have graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in biochemistry with honors. But he writes like a college freshman, so I have to question whether his credentials (medical and petrochemical) are real. Maybe English isn't his first language...

A lot of people on other forums, going way back, seem to think a lot of what Dr. Haas says is BS. I think I'll just stick with 5W-20 (full-syn Mobil 1) like it says in the manual.

Some owners will not pay $27 for 5 qts Jug + another Qt. They look at the $14 Jug. But as long as it says GF5 and is Specs for Ford they should have fairly good results. Just change it more often.
