I bought the Lisle tool from Amazon for $58, all 8 motorcraft plugs from Orielly's for $68, spent two hours in the cold pulling my battery, the comp box from the firewall and changing out the plugs - never opened the lisle tool kit. All eight plugs came out ok. All original plugs (7 anyway) with 126K miles.

Runs great.

Go for it.

You rarely hear about the plugs that don't break. Take your time, you should be fine. There are a few really good youtube vids that will help when it comes to using the tool if it gets to there. I did mine while i had my intake off and it felt like i had all the room in the world.

STOP!!!!! I have a buddy who is a Mechanic at FORD. I had him change my plugs, he used an impact gun to remove the plugs. I watched him do it in his garage at his house... not 1 single plug broke.. He laughed at me when i asked him if he had the Lisle tool....

I don't know how people are trying to get these plugs out. Hammer and chisel? I took all 8 of mine out with no problem after 128k miles. Remember righty tighty, lefty loosey. Maybe I just got lucky

Do yourself a favor and replace the coils at the same time. You have to remove them anyway to replace the spark plugs. You can get a set of 8 Accel Super Coils from Summit for $205.

Default Pricey plugs and Lisle Tool comments ...

[QUOTE=Oldrice;1656960]I bought the Lisle tool from Amazon for $58, all 8 motorcraft plugs from Orielly's for $68, spent two hours in the cold pulling my battery, the comp box from the firewall and changing out the plugs - never opened the lisle tool kit. Amazon has the Motorcraft SP-515 Spark Plug for $11.25 plus shipping. Why do you think they are soooo high?
Also on Amazon, the Lisle Tool was seriously diss-ed by several reviewers. They said the tool stripped threads and broke causing them to have to replace the heads!!

Default Ford F-150 class action law suite

There is actually a class action law suite about this against Ford!

Where are the lawyers, we should be suing Ford and their dealerships for taken advantage of us, they know of the issue but won't do nothing about it. Basically if the dealership break a spark plug then they should be charging Ford for the labor/tool cost and not us. Talk about BS
