I have a 2005 lariat 5.4 Triton i have it for a couple of months the truck only had 51000 on it and i have only slammed a couple of km on this morning i have started the truck and it was running fine when i got back home a couple of hrs after i decided to go back to the store and as soon i have started it it was miss fireing very bad so i have brought it yo the mechanic close to home . he ran a test on his snap-on code reader and told me that it was mis firering on 5,6,7,8 one side. we are verry confused and don"t know what is wrong pleas help.
Interesting thread, will be a good read, sounds to me something went wrong with the timing for that head. Hopefully its something down in the electrical system. Good luck.
they have told me that 2 bad injectors had cause the problem and it had messed up my catalic converter i would had cost me over 2000$ with labor but becaus it was a recall it dint costed me a dime .....
Sounds like your cam sync. is bad(controls timming). its A $60 part. there is a big "plug" on top of your valve cover, pull it out. Look inside, you need a "torx" bit . Remove the 1 torx bit screw and pull out the syncroniser and replace. Important--- you must rev the engine steadly above 2200rpm for 2 min. to reset the computer. Any Questions call me @ 909-261-1506
