Stock 4.6 motors have weak conecting rods.. only good to 400 hp reliably. I have seen them put out more. We had a tuner call our shop because he was putting a turbo on an 05 or 06 150 4.6 and it kept slamming the throttle shut at 4800. we were trying to figure out how to keep it open. On his third call he said nevermind it had slung a rod through the side of the block.

You can add 5.4L to that to. Same powdered metal money saving rods. Never liked them from day one.

good point but i dont think anyone is as good as mmr...their power and motors are untouched..plus 3 hours away is a great selling point for me

arent you in San Diego? Mod. Perf is in Novi, Michigan.

If you get a motor from Mike and John, they will do all of the head work and Jim O'Neill at Renegade Racing does the head work.
