Stock 4.6 motors have weak conecting rods.. only good to 400 hp reliably. I have seen them put out more. We had a tuner call our shop because he was putting a turbo on an 05 or 06 150 4.6 and it kept slamming the throttle shut at 4800. we were trying to figure out how to keep it open. On his third call he said nevermind it had slung a rod through the side of the block.

no. big bore turbo. Not stroked. By stroking an engine that already have a square bore and stroke, you are decreasing the volumetric efficiency of the engine. It requires MORE energy for the motor to move the rotating assembly. By going big bore, you keep the short stroke of the engine and only create a situation in which it only needs to push the piston that is wider rather than push it longer.......Formula 1 cars make a lot of power because they can rev all day long and the rotating assy does not have to travel a long distance.

good point but i dont think anyone is as good as mmr...their power and motors are untouched..plus 3 hours away is a great selling point for me

If you get a motor from Mike and John, they will do all of the head work and Jim O'Neill at Renegade Racing does the head work.
