2004 5.4L 3V Trition with 200,300 miles went down couple of weeks ago. Original thread - https://www.f150forum.com/f4/2004-sc...295909/http://

I have now gotten into the motor and found that cyl 8 had either the lifter come apart or the roller break (which ever came first).

My question for this thread is how do I get the lower (bigger) part of the lifter out of the head? It seems to be stuck, I tried using vise grips to grab the edge with no success. The lower internal pump? part is still inside the lifter itself and does not move (no surprise).
