nope. the modular motors are rated at higher HP and possess better fuel economy.

yea if you want to down mpg, why dont you get a mustang or a civic....you evidently dont want a truck, you want more power or more mpg....both kind of hard with a truck

The Mustang did have more power, different intake, different cam profile, dual exhaust and headers instead of manifolds. For the money and time you could build a motor and put it in your truck. You will lose fuel mileage with a built engine, but you can build it while you drive your truck.

hey solder....first off, your looking like a complete ***, you have not a clue what you want, and are tossing around numbers...you realize that my 4.6 puts out more power then a 5.0 does...but thats due to better technology...for example...

go read a few post and use ONE login per forum....

by the way what do you mean things might go my way? like i might get your vote...? votes arent based on the buddy system, its on the better truck, and the poll is closed

wasnt trying to be an *** but maybe you shouldnt act like an assclown when people are telling you things and your ignoring them, but hey i guess thats what the army teaches these days....

in conclusion, with these trucks you can get power....or mpg, but not both, you want mustang power...get a mustang, you do realize a mustang power mod is to use truck intakes to gain tq....but im sure you knew all about mod motors before you jumped on someone who might know a little about these things...

why buy an exact same engine?

do this:

cam..which will prob need new springs/valves/retainers if not performance heads, custom true dual exhaust, long tubes, a better flowing intake, or just leave it alone as its designed for you truck...and i doubt your going to find one that isnt going to lose tq, but i dont own a 4.6 97-03, so they may have one out that is claiming some 12-18 hp gain but who knows, a tune, and maybe even some gears will give you that "mustang feel"

hows that for helpful....

just be less angry on the board and maybe you'll get less bs post and more helpful ones...and dont use 2 names, and double posting is annoying...see how i put 2 post...shouldnt do that...thats called whoring
