or maybe could i just swap out the ecu from the stang does anybody know if that would work?

but i hate 5.4 it drinks gas and dosent get the power it sould with that kinda mpg

I have the 5.4L and I get around the same thing for gas milage that you are.

the 5.4 gets better milage then the 4.6 because the 4.6 is too small so it has to work really hard. you can do the swap but youll be dissapointed in the end

*sigh*. Assuming you have a slightly newer 4.6L (PI engine), there is NO difference between it and a 99-04 Mustang GT 4.6L 2V engine. All you will be able to use is the block and the heads, there is NO power gain from doing that. We can debate this all day long, but the 2V PI motor stang gets the same heads, all the castings are identical, its all homogenized and common engineering....thats why its called a MODULAR ENGINE.

the 2V 5.4L is great if you are towing stuff, but as far as performance, the 330CID 2V motor lacks the volumetric efficiency of the 4.6L.Whereas the 4.6L has a square bore and stroke, the 5.4L merely has an extended stroker without as increase to the bore of the block. Its your choice, just dont bitch about poor fuel economy.
