maybe give it a tune up if it hasn't been done in a while.are you running bigger tires than stock? there's no replacement for displacement. a 5.4 might be better. i'm not sure you'll be happy with any power increase with the small 4.6. maybe swap to a lower gear ratio.

boost is the only replacement for displacement...

it is possible but the trans are very different. the truck you have has a 4r70w and the lightning has a 4r100. itll be a eng, trans, ecu swap, possible wiring harness but double check.

Default Want to swap a 4.6 f150 out for the stang 4.6

the title said it all. I'm so tired of my gutless f150 ( 2000 4x4 offroad ) its the most pothedic thing i have ever seen i get 18 to 20 mpg wich is the only redeeming quality it has and so far everything still works fine. but i want to have more power. I have read the that the stangs around the same year have about 250to300 hp and my engine at best is sitting at 130 to 160 at best!!!!! so i need to know if i can swap a engine out of a stang that is close to the same year with out changing alot of stuff like the harness. I understand that i will need to change the ecm but i really need to know what else i would have to change in oreder to make this a weekend job. it is the only thing i have for work so i could give it about 4days of my undivided attetion but after that i kinda need it to be there for me. also my wife just told me that we are going to be having are first child so i kinda need it to be on a tight buget as well. so lets sum it up here.
1 will the engine work with my harness.
2 will it use the same engine mounts.
3 will i keep my stock tranny ( have a light right foot)
4 will the exhaust stay the same. could realy use some help on this stuff guys. i dont know alot about the diffrence on these engines.
