Question How do I know which engine I need?

Okay first off: I am not a car/truck person, I just need some simple advice.
I need to replace my engine and i'm going to order one online but they have three differnt options for my truck.
I have a 97 f150 xlt extended cab 4x4 v8 4.6l Triton EFI-SOHC (R)
the online autoparts sellers have 2 options for Windsor and 1 for Romeo
How can I tell exactly which one will fit my truck?
Thanks

Check your vin (vehicle identification number). The 8th character will either be a 'W' or a '6'. I have a 1998 F-150 4.6, and for that year 'W' means that it is a "Romeo" and '6' inbicates "Windsor". You can find your "Vin" either on top of your dash above instrument cluster looking through the wind-shield from outside, or your state registration should list it. Also, most online engine sites reference the code for each engine.

Thanks. It's a Romeo, kinda weird that if it's "w" it's a romeo.
Now all I got to do is find a Cheap used engine.
