Default Engine swap 2000 for an '07

My dad needs help putting this back together after a careless nephew messed him over. He still owes the bank and needs to get it running and sell it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
2000 model f150 4X4 extended cab.
5.4 engine

The engine in the truck threw a rod thru the block.

We have an 07' 5.4 with ~4500 miles on it out of a wrecked truck that my brother in law got for him.

Question #1.
Will getting a wiring harness and pc from another wrecked truck with a 5.4 work in this year model? What all would we need to get if so? The intake and heads are different and will not hook up.
Question #2.
Would it be better to pull the heads from the original engine and just swap parts? Then sell the newer heads and intake etc.
Question #3.
Is there a transition intake that will bolt on the newer model heads and older fuel lines and wiring harness would work?

to make it work, you will need to swap over the entire engine AND EEC with all associated wiring....It would be cheaper and easier to get a 5.4L 2V and sell the 3V motor on ebay.

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. He's stuck trying to fix this mess and get rid of it since he owes so much.

you wont make anything on a truck with a non original motor, and you WILL have a VERY hard time getting that motor to work in the truck if you want to use any of the old parts.

That's what I was telling my dad. Looks like we will have to find another engine and try to sell this one.

if you are trying to sell the truck, and just get the motor in it for that reason, any junkyard motor will do, and you could probally make some money on selling the newer motor depending on how much you paid for it.

I appreciate the help everyone. Sounds like that is the best answer so I am talking to my dad to see how he wants to handle it. He only paid 1000 for the complete engine. Only problem selling the newer engine is we only know what we were told about it and even though we believe what we were told about it and it only has 4500 mile on it out of a wrecked truck is getting a buyer who would trust us. So the saga continues.

yo ushould have no problem selling it on ebay, or even talk to a local junkyard to see if they will buy it from ya, or even trade it for what you need.
