Default vacuum problem

Hello I'm new here and was wondering if anyone has an idea why i'm not getting vac at the egr valve. this truck is a 93, 300 six with over200 thou. new plugs cap button wires filter fuel filter 5 speed standard the prob is when idle is sounds fine when you get into 4th or 5th the truck seems to stumble when giving the gas but if you put the peddle down 3/4 it takes the gas and really goes good so seems to be in the mid range where its stumbling will the loss of vac to the egr cause all this and i'm only getting around 14 mpg's ???

Default this may be the problem

i was having problems a lot like that, took it to the dealer got the codes read,it was a bad map sensor,it was shorting out causing the system to run rich,i to had no vac. at the egr, i guess the computer would not tell the erg solenoid to release vac to the egr the part cost me $40.86 took less than 30 min to fix, now my truck runs fine i have a 1990 f-150 4.9 six cyl.

where would the map sensor be and how do i check it I was looking under the hood and looks like pre owner may have messed with the vac lines tring to take some of the smog stuff off or something unsure what the reason for looping the line back into its self was but i'll try to figure it out when it gets a little warmer

I don't understand i'm not getting vac from the egr but from the manifold i get plenty, what's in between that could stop it or could i just take from the manifold would that hurt the motor when i put vac on the egr the motor starts sputtering and dogs down so it must be working so now what?

Mine has so many vacuum leaks i can't believe it still runs. Makes a whistling sound too. Some people like it and say it reminds them of a turbo spooling up or something.

does all them vac leaks make your engine loose power at mid range and fall on its nose when you give it gas cause mine is bad on mpg's and i loose power when i give gas through mid range like it looses every thing until peddle hits floor then picks up like nothing is wrong?

the truck idles at about 1000rpms but don't miss alot only when i am driving and after the shift from 4 to 5th do i notice when it seems to be a slugish feel when i push the peddle down it seems to cut out and lose power but if i push it to the floor it picks right back up then i ease up on the peddle and everything is all fine just seems to waste gas and not much power it said the egr was bad but turned out there is no vacuum to it don't know why i have other vac on the manifold just not to the egr ????

ps also the truck revs good for having 200thou on it if it had vac leak would it still rev good or would it cut out??
