Direct-injection engines improve performance and save fuel, but at a price

I don't know much about catch cans so I'll accept any corrections on this. It's my understanding that they're supposed to trap vapor coming from the crank case so that they're not drawn into the combustion chamber and contaminating the engine oil.
While this might have some effect on carbon buildup, I don't think it's specifically meant for direct injection vehicles is it? I thought it was just a general precautionary device with debatable results. If a vendor selling fuel filters posted this article would it still bug you?
Regardless, I still don't see a problem. If the OP thinks DI engines are susceptible to more carbon buildup then he's provided support from a fairly reputable source (more reputable than his own ramblings anyway). My question to you is why are you so angry?

Funny that you would come to F150Forum where the only direct injected engines are ecoboosts and post an article like this.
Just because you didn't say it does not mean you were not implying it.
Again...since your intent was thinly veiled...find me one Ecoboost where the top end was gunked up, as you were implying through the article.

As you guys can tell SNOBDDS has a real woody for my company. It's him and a few other fellas that attack every thread, every post. I am the director of marketing for a specialty automotive company and it's literally my job to create exposure for our products. RX pays good money just like every other vendor on here so that we can promote our products that we believe in. We have happy satisfied customers like every other business and few, almost zero unhappy, unlike most businesses.
That said SNOBDDS, whoever you are I am asking you nicely, man to man to not post after mine. We all get that you don't believe in crank case evacuation or that clean valves have a benefit. I don't have a problem with your belief and honestly could care less what it is. This is just getting weird now. I'm in Palmetto, the address is on the site, come by and I'll give you a hug if you need one that bad. Otherwise, I'm happily married to a woman and have no interest in continuing this relationship.
I'm sure you think some aftermarket wheels are ugly, exhaust sound like crap and some brands of CAI's are worthless. Me too buddy but I'm not following them around giving them guff every time they post. That would tell them and everyone who reads the posts I have a different problem and it's not related to their products.
I'm exhausted and my fingers now have calluses, enough said...
We good? GOOD.

Hopefully it wasn't my post that was seen as an attack; I too think this was a great informational post. I only mentioned the EB as it is DI; the 5.0 is not so isn't a part of this discussion.

Plus, you were quick to play the role of the victim here, something Tracy played into well. You knew exactly the message you wanted to convey here with an article like this. Since you wanted a dialog on this topic, well lets discuss. Post up one gunked up ecoboost motor and your article will have some context. Otherwise it just looks like your trolling...

Alright man I think it's time to give it a rest. Ultimately you came in here not to discuss but to accuse. How you say things matters. And who cares if he has a professional interest in the subject of his post? Maybe you should re-examine who the troll is.
And my final word on the matter, if you're concerned that he's violating forum rules with this thread then all you have to do is simply report it and let the mods decide.

Are we reading the same thread here...? What are you even talking about?
