The facts: This cool, 30 degree morning I started up as usual and let it warm for 30-40 sec. to get pressures up in the drivetrain. Putting it into drive, releasing the brake, the truck rolled 3-4 feet and suddenly dropped into Neutral. It did this 5 times and I finally was able to pull over safely and shut down. I restarted, and all was normal. Vehicle just rolled over 170K (a 5.0), and I had all fluid changed at 150K. Went to the Ford dealer directly, and they feel its a Torque Converter and/or Trans. Fluid Pump. $2650!! Anyone have this problem? Any solutions? TIA.

I'll give it a bump because I'm interested in this as I have a 2011 5.0 that is at 167k with tranny fluid changed at 160k, but having a different issue that may be related.

This problem never happened again, but I am now very distrustful of my '11's reliability. So I bit the bullet a few weeks ago and cashed in on all the Ford Rebates and got a 2015 XLT SCab

Yeah, but hard to blame the truck if it's got 170k. Mines been flawless

I've never got LESS than 300K out of my Ford trucks. Was a bit disappointed in the 2011. Great color tho'. Red Candy

So what I've read is you took your truck in exhibiting no issues and your upset with their total shot in the dark?

Or are you pissed that your truck had a hiccup with apparently no immediate consequence?
