Default need some rear end advice.

well I have a bearing going bad in my rear end so im going to go ahead and have all the bearings replaced. well I do some minor off roading through out the year and would like some sort of locker. I am aware that they do not make an electronic locker for the 9.75" rear end that I have. and I also know that the original Detroit locker, sucks in snow and ice. well my question is; is the Detroit truetrac worth getting? is it better than fords factory limited slip? my truck is a 06. and how is it on snow and ice. the snow and ice isn't that big of an issue, I only have to deal with it about 4 days out of the year. im looking for first hand experience. thanks everyone.
