crush a little car today
It's cubic horsepower and what are you willing to spend? A set of ported and polished heads with cams gives good power for the buck. If you want more you can change the heads to the newer 3 valve heads for more power. If you add a supercharger you start making a lot of horse power but really need a stouter bottom end to hold that much power. All of it needs to go to forged pieces. Don't forget to do up the trans to keep it together.

It all comes down to how much $$ you have. If you have about 5K sitting around do a Lightning swap. With 4K a centrifugal supercharger. For about 2.5K you could replace the heads and cams. For about $500.00 you could get long tube headers or a tuner.
