I have a SCT LiveWire and the PRP tuning software. Ther's a table that can be modified for O2 placement.

Diameter of pipe shouldn't change your MPG. I have a 32v GT swap and Big BOre with huge cams and 4.56 gears and still get 21-22mpg going down the highway.

It all matters with your Xfer function in your vehicle tune. if you start messing with air flow into and out of your motor, that function changes in your tune. And 99% of the MPG is in your tune. I have proved that over and over in my mustang builds, and the processors for the trucks as far as tuning are pretty much the same.

Go datalog the car and read your STFTs, that would let you know if your truck is lean or rich without a WB. pretty much the only thing a WB is needed for is WOT tuning or open loop tuning...

Also if your O2s aren't getting hot enough...that will cause a problem as well...

thank you NeverEnuff, what are you talking about when you say WB? and also what is the correct temp for o2 sensors? Im getting it tuned friday, this is the first time for me at a tune shop, anything i should be aware of or ask for that will help me out?..they said they would probablly be able to fix the mpg problem im having. so im hoping they arent lying and my fingers are crossed..i guess they are tuning a chip for me that will plug into the ecu and i will also be able to use my edge chip/progrmmer w/ it.sounds like it will be a pretty snappy truck before too long..

a tune should fix everything. They just adjust your MAF for your computer and what your motor flows for air and the injectors. once they calibrate that and get it good...all is good. Its the 'base' of the tune. If the Xfer function is off...the whole tune suffers along with MPG.

What tuner are you using...Kansas?

i went to a place called performance tune.but they couldnt do anything for me,which sucked cause it was a waste of a day w/out my truck. i guess 04' and newer f-series and 05' and newer mustangs have a different port on them.not the obd2 port needed.so either i have to find a place that tunes the computer i have on my truck or get rid of my edge programmer/chip and get the SCT which they said is the only way they could fix my problem..the edge doesnt allow them to get as indepth as far as o2 sensor parameters.i dont know what to do..anybody got some ideas?

The factory doesn't design the suspension for power but for hauling weight. The springs are wrapping up. If I had the money I would have my race partner put in a 4 link.

A 302 would be great with 2.25" exhaust! I had mine custom bent with the 5.4 and looks and sounds great. Didn't affect gas mileage any. 2.5" is good for supercharged motors, and big blocks, but nothing more than that. Otherwise you're just paying more for same thing!
