Putting 4.56 gears in my 9.75 from a 2000 F150. The truck was a dog with 3.55s and 35s. Anyways this is my first time doing gears. The backlash is set at 0.0085" and I'm not sure of the pinion depth (don't have a tool). How does this pattern look? Maybe move the pinion in a little bit deeper? This is my 3rd pattern run so the pattern on the unpainted teeth isn't exactly accurate

Moved the pinion in about 0.013"s. The pattern is definitely more centered now. Backlash is at 0.0075"

I would say it looks pretty good. I would go with that. But I doubt you waited 6+/- weeks for an answer.

I think that's the pattern I went with, may have tightened the back lash just a tad. The gears are running great, 4.56s are awesome. Still gotta do the front tho.
