i have been told by several people that there is no difference in the engines whatsoever, and that the myth behind police cars having a much more potent engines than others is complete bogus, because i have a good friend that is a cop, and he says that his Police Interceptor is no faster than a regular crown vic.

Well, Kind of ran into a problem installing the f150 intake. The heads on the PI engine are bigger than the 97-03 f150s. So the intake for the f150's will not fit. So I'm gonna have to rig up the 02 Crown Vic Intake to work on the f150.

the pi cars have an x piped exhaust and they have a higher govenor... and as far as the triton... the 4.6l triton is a 2 valve engine the reg 4.6 is a 3v
so you can imagine the hp numbers are just a little different!

well guys there is close to no differences between the motors in a f150 4.6 and a crown vic. judging by how aubtigrz saw how the intake manifold is not the same and neither are the heads. the 4.6 liter in an f150 is made entirely for torque and the crown vic has less torque with slightly higher hp

ALL 4.6L/5.4L(PI) 2V heads are the same, they all share the same cardioid port along with a 1.8inch exhaust port and a casting shroud in front of the exhaust valve that in turn keeps the plug kernel away from the exhaust valve.
