Default 2010 F150 with 5.4L 3V Triton

So I purchased a used F150 with the 5.4L 3V with 75K miles and it's been well maintained. Are the cam phasers still an issue in the 2010? I swear you can google just about any motor and somebody will claim it's problematic or junk. Any info on this year would be great.

Yes, phasers can still be an issue on a 2010 5.4. Ford did not make many improvements during the run that I recall. Spark plugs, yes, but the internal mess didn’t rear its head until the 5.0 was on the drawing board.

Thanks to mass production, most automobiles develop a track record that’s rather reliable. Unless you’re a German automaker, then anything is fair game.

You will likely wind up with a blown tensioner seal that starts this mess. It’s beancounter brand flimsy plastic.
