It's not reliable to turbocharged a petrol engine unlike diesel that has no spark plug that will get fouled. Try importing a 3.2 durotorq diesel engine installed on Ford Ranger T6 which is sold in Mexico. It's a straight type 5 cylinder engine. This Diesel engine is more Durable, more powerful and more fuel efficient (28 MPG) compaired to V8 petrol engine that requires more expensive maintenance.

As a former Powerstroke 6.0L owner, now a 5.0L V8 owner, all I can say is "You're a funny guy!"

Diesel ignites when injected to hot compressed air. On Diesel the purpose doing a maintenace is make the engine last longer. On Gasoline Maintenance is required to keep the engine operational like the Spark Plug, Ignition Coil, etc.

Moden V8's don't require much maintenace beyond oil & filter changes and the occasional air filter. Spark plug changes are at around 100,000 miles and most no longer have plug wires. Modern diesels now use electronic fuel injection, not the old style mechanical pumps, and generally require about double the on-board oil supply, more expensive filters, etc.

All I really care about is service, reliability and performance. I had a 99 F-150 with 5.4L engine, replaced the right head gasket after it leaked oil. Had the plugs helio coiled after it spit out two, but other than that, it was a hoss.

I just bought a 2014 with the ecoboost. It is just a fast truck and I like the way it drives. All kinds of opinions here. By now, I would hope they have any kinks worked out. If not, will take it back and get one with the 5.0. Hauling is not a real issue for me, nothing more than a boat and small camper.

I have 105,000 miles on my 2011 F150 with Ecoboost. 15% of that is towing a 25 foot tavel trailer. still running great. only problem it has had was the stumbling on hard exceration which was fixed by changing the sparkplugs, the new plugs the use can go bad but not show it on the computer or throw error codes. so most don't think that is it. that happened at 70,000 shes been great ever sense. I have been over the rocky mountains 4 times sense with the trailer at about 7,000Lbs only got slowed down by others in my way, she'll go as fast as I want even with the trailer. the eco is the best way to go for all around.
