I'm glad to hear that the dealership is taking such great care of you and your truck, la_leo. Please let us know how it goes; I'll be here if you need any further assistance.

She explained to that she can't help because the dealership says it is normal characteristic of the truck. At least that's what my dealership told them. The dealership compared my truck with another 2012 f150 on the lot that had more miles it than mine. It was even louder than mine they said. Maybe because it has the same problem! The service manager said not to worry about it because I have plenty of warranty left. I have been back to the dealership several times for other issues and they keep telling me the same thing about the engine noise. I have been trying to call my for ford rep but she never answers anymore. I leave her voicemails but she never returns my call. I guess she is hoping I will go away. I guess the tactic his worked so far. It is senseless leave people voicemails if they don't call you back. If i call ford customer service hotline to explain to them that my ford rep has not been returning my calls, they send me back to the same rep that doesn't answer her calls. I don't know what to do. I requested a ford engineer to come to my dealership last summer to check on the engine noise themself, but ford won't send one because of what the ford dealership explained to them. It is a completely vicious loop with nothing getting accomplished. I am hoping someone out there in the Ford motor company could help. So far I have not seen it yet. I am glad to see that someone's dealerships are fixing their issues, just unfortunate mine won't. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I'll investigate this further, jnigro. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, and best daytime contact number so I can locate your records in our system. If you have any case numbers from previous dealer trips or conversations with Ford Representatives, please send those my way as well. I'll do all I can to assist.

Default light knock

My 2013 is giving a light knock on the passenger side. it is intermittent and subtle. Sometimes its a bit louder. I am taking it in on the 5th. However I feel that the dealership is going to come back and call it "normal" My truck has 29500 miles on it. I am going to try a full tank of premium tomorrow for my 6 hr drive. That way I can go into the dealer with as much information as possible. Any other suggestions/advice is/are appreciated.

You're doing the right thing by having your dealer take a look at this, Rydaniels. I'll get a case started and into the hands of your regional customer service manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number.

I have another appointment with my local dealership next week. I hope they dig in and resolve the engine knock/ticking sound on my truck. My video sounds just like the rest of them. I explained everything to the service manager what others are finding from their dealerships. Thanks. I'm glade to see others on this forum are getting their engine noise resolved. I hope I'm next. I'll let you guys know.

Had my truck looked at yesterday.

Long and short...

The tech/mechanic noticed the noise/sound but could not pinpoint location of the noise because it is a subtle and faint sound. They did not want to tear into the block at the time and I was in agreement, as I needed my truck this week to move 500 miles. They did however, document that they did hear a noise and it was acknowledged. The mechanic believes that the sound based on it's subtle nature might be inherent to the engine. I will have the truck looked at again in a bit once i settle in to my new place. My knock is not as bad as the videos and one would only notice it if they were really listening. I have 30k miles left on the power-train warranty to I will keep a close eye on it.
