Default 2005 5.4 triton power?

I have a 2005 150 Crew 4x4 Lariat with the 5.4 . Question is I now have 21,000 miles on it and I am not impressed with the power at 14 to 15 mpg. My wife has a Tahoe at 17 mpg with the 5.3 it that has alot more pep than my 150 can anyone explain or have a idea ? comments ,questions or suggestions ?

and your right foot will help with the millage, I'm just guessing, but I would have to say your wife is easier on the gas than you are (just a guess, lol. I know plenty of lead footed women) and a tuner, intake, and exhaust will free your truck up quite a bit.

Tuner , air ,etc really wakes the 5.4 up ? If this is true why does Ford detune them ? I have thought about a tuner but am jus a little apprehensive with some of the tranny problems I here about and with fuel going up and up I would rather not pay for high octane fuel

B/C ford didnt spend the time and money to truely get all the power out of these trucks and if they did they would have changed the intake and exhaust.

Thats ok mileage....the tuner and Cai will help your mileage but it wont be worth the money you spend on the mods themself.
