Default 2003 Ford F150 V6 question???

i was wandering what some common problems are with the 4.2 V6 engine in a 2003 Ford F150? I have 200,000 miles on my truck and just bought it. Is it a pushroad engine or a overhead cam engine. I would just like some info on this engine and transmission...thanks

Sob, Sob, its the last of the push rod engines. Many of other members will agree. Infantcy branded it poorly. Mainly because it replaced the beloved 4.9 or 300 CID back in my day.

Question, any history of maintenance and oil used? Information gathered and personal experience agree, these engines love the thinner 5W20 oil.

If a good history is provided stay, with what got it to the 200K.

My 02 4.2 is at 192K and no drastic issues, about 1 Qt in the 5K service interval.
