Default 1999 F 150 4.2

I have a 99 F 150 - bought it new. Do I need to worry about the head gasket and timing cover gasket? It has 160K miles and runs good. Thanks!

At a 160k you gotta be ready for anything. What kind of repairs have you made over the years?

Welcome to the site. As torkum asked what PM has been done? If you haven't already, replace all hoses and belts. Its not cheap, but it is necessary to keep the engine integrity. Don't need any overtemp stuff. The heater hoses at the firewall are a real challenge. Might ask more questions on that. Special tool required and I've always been a sissy when pulling on a heater core. Have changed to many of them for different people. I'm at 176K on my 02. Been an absolute beauty of a truck. Swetted bullets having the cruise control recall done on it, nobody touches my truck unless I'm there and watching. Not saying I'm any better than the next guy, its just me and have seen to many flat raters butcher things.

I'd think about vacuum lines, egr and 02 sensors as well.

Torkum that is a nice looking truck. If that is your garage, do you have a room to rent?
