Default ~~1992 f150 wont stay running~~

okey dokey,new fuel pump and filter. 39 psi on fuel rail,will run on starter fluid but dies after.i can keep tapping the gas pedal and it will barely run(ruff though)please help i`m running out of hair to pull out.

Welcome to the forum! What king of problems did you have before changing fuel pump? Such behavior of your truck leaves a lot of options what can be wrong, so it would be good to have some additional info. First ideas: Check compression to ensure that valve timing is ok. Check (or replace) sparks to know they're fine. Check the injectors (they might not deliver enough fuel into cylinders).

one day it wouldnt start..no fuel pressure.spark should be fine cause it runs off of starter fluid right?

i bought the truck from my dad..he drove it 13 yrs everyday..ran perfect.he did put a 95 sho motor in it about 2 yrs ago.the motor only has abot 50,000 mi on it.trucks intake etc...

So probably the timing is right. I think that something is wrong with injectors, because starting fliud is applyed through air intake and it runs. So i guess that no fuel is delivered to cylinders. May be some dirt started to move towards cylinders when pressure raised back to normal.

problem solved...yea...i put on a new regulator and it was still doing the same thing.i unplugged map sensor and it ran..so i went to the junkyard ,bought a map sensor and ...SHE`S ALIVE!!!thanks for trying to help out
