help! 5.4 burning oil

Default help! 5.4 burning oil

i have a 2001 f150 with the 5.4 heres my problem. i live on a steep hill and when i start my truck in the morning everythings fine no smoke normal start, i just started parking on this hill.

anyways once i get to work i leave the truck untill lunch no smoke. i let it sit from 12:00 to 5:30 and it smokes for 5 seconds and i can smell that its oil sometimes it will do it sometimes it wont.

i just changed my spark plugs and the oil in the truck what could the problem be please help! i just bought this truck with 80,000 miles on it ive now only got 82k on it

Do a search on 5.4's burning oil, it seems to be a popular post on here, so your not the first to have this problem. Just watch the oil level until you figure something out.

Just a thought, as i'm new to this engine. I personally tend to park reverse in any parking stall. With this slope if you are doing the same, *** end uphill, perhaps the oil collecting in the open cavity under the intake is forward, now when parking flat the oil is running over and getting on the exhaust and thus the smoke. Several post here about head gaskets leaking oil into this cavity. Just something to think about.

i park with the front end up hill.. and i tried the search and found nothing helpful so someone whos know what the problem could be please let me know. btw it did not smoke at all today. thanks
