Default Tuned my 6.2L today

So I bought a edge evo for my 13 f150 and I'm amazed with the results. My fuel economy has gone up dramatically. I went from about 14mpg at 60mph to almost 19. I have yet to take a long trip to test it out in the long haul but so far I'm pretty impressed. The power off the line even on the economy mode is quite surprising. I can't wait to burn out my regular gas and put some premium in to try the performance setting.

I think you'll like the premium tune even more. I found the exhaust note deeper and louder, and the car a little more responsive. It's amazing how much power these engines are leaving on the table with a stock tune.

My FX4 has had an SSI custom tune for premium fuel for quite a while now..... it runs pretty well especially when I compare it to the stock tune in the 6.2 in my XTR..... which is depressing. It's the lack of bottom end power that gets me with Ford's oem tune...plus the throttle lag... and yeah the sound is weird. My FX4 when equipped with the stock intake was way louder than this XTR...... they are the same truck... with the same engine and same air intake. I dunno lol. The FX4 has an AFE intake on it and 3.5" MBRP exhaust. It sounds amazing regardless! I need to quit being so passive and go hook up HP tuners to my trucks and start playing with them myself! The FX4 is getting long tubes..... the XTR as its my work rig won't..... well I say that now lol.

I just got to play around with the race tune this afternoon. Pretty impressed with the improved low end. Really puts you back in the seat now. I really want to do a full exhaust but I'm too cheap for the quotes 6 hour install on the headers haha

You think you are cheap...... I am going to do the headers myself! I would pay someone honestly...... but I can already imagine what they will ruin in the process and get something back much worse than what I started with. The install will be awful... nothing looks fun on the outside of those heads. I think my exhaust will be way too loud though.. well I know it will be and thus I will be hacking in a different muffler or resonator. I have a couple stock 3.5" Duramax truck exhausts..... maybe use that muffler at that point. It sounded pretty good on my friends LQ9.

I've been told you have to lift the motor up a few inches to be able to slide the headers in. I've never split a motor from a transmission in anything bigger than a dirt bike so I'm definitely not attempting it on a brand new truck haha

That's not true. You may need to lift the engine a bit according to some instructions but you just undo the engine mounts and lift a bit. No need to touch the bellhousing
