i'm removing the 5.4 l from f150 and i'm having trouble getting the water pmp/ fan assembly off. lookss like a 2" wrench. there must be a special tool. any body know where to get one, what it looks like, or an alternative?

you can find the ford fan tools 303-240 and 303-239 on ebay for cheap. i was able to use a large adj wrench on the fan nut, and held the water pump pulley in place with a pair of vise grips. just be careful not to gouge the pulley with the vise grips. turn counter clockwise. usually it just takes one quick pull and its loose. when you go to put it back together you just need to get it snug, the motor rotation will do the rest.
