Default o/d light flashing

I have a 2003 F150 Super Crew, 5.4L engine. Lately the O/D light is flashind when starting the engine, and I have notice the engine on idle accelerates while the engine temperature is not cold, as soon as the engine goes to normal idle RPMs the O/D stops flashing. Has anyone had a similar problem?

thanks,

Antonio

p.s. I am taking tomorrow the truck to a mechanic to get the codes.

After cleaning the thottle body and changing the IAC valve the O/D light has not come up, the engine is running smoothly and I also feel the gears entering more smoothly.

p.s, also the check engine light is not on right after changing the IAC valve.

thanks,

Antonio

Sorry to say nut problems returned after a day of driving. Engine RPM go up, and O/D light start flashing.

These are the error codes: P1702 TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT.

Could this be the cause? a range sensor causing the engine RPM to go up?

Thanks,

Antonio
