2001 F150 Engine & tranny upgrade question
Good Day all,
Second post here, so be gentle.
I have a 2001 F150 XLT, with a 4.6L Engine. The Engine and Tranny are shot, too much wheeling, and laying her over.
I would like to drop a 5.4L 380 hp V8 remanufactured engine and Remanufactured Tranny into the truck.
Some folks say it can be done, and the dealership says it cannot be done. So how feasible is upgrading to a large size engine?
The dealer said it won’t match up to the Bell Housing, however if I go with a new Tranny, it shouldn’t have a problem matching up, at least in my opinion.
In addition, does anyone know of a good / great Remanufactured engine company? I do not want Rebuilt.
