Default Long tube headers

Anyone out there running long tubes? Thinking about getting some, but worried it will void my warranty, since it affects emissions.

Yes it will definitely void your warranty. It will make a little more power but it will also cause the truck to run a little leaner and throw a check engine light. Its when you combine the aftermarket intake bigger throttle body and then do headers and exhaust. Then have it pro-tuned is when those parts really show their potential.

Its to my understanding that ford did not run the same header type as on the GT due to durability issues of the headers holding up to the heat and stress of a truck application. It would be nice if I had a set of stock 2015-16 GT headers to test on the dyno along side of a set of extruded honed 5.0 stock manifolds.

Thanks. I will just wait until my warranty is out, then look at what my options are.

After further research on the 5.0 truck the cost of horsepower gained verses money spent on headers is not feasible until you go forced induction.
At the most you will see 15 and 15 at the wheels tuned with cats in place these numbers could go as high as 30 and 30 at the wheels with all supporting mods, intake, tune, throttle body, intake manifold, off road Y-Pipe, and true 3 inch exhaust.
It was going to cost almost 3,000.00 to go with ARH headers with off road Y-Pipe installed and tuned. I still plan on going with headers but not at this time. The best power per dollar with this engine in our trucks is an AC Delco drop in air filter and a SCT canned tune.

I'm running Kooks 1 3/4" long tubes with race catted y pipe found a new unused open box for $1359. Very happy with them. Helped get some low end torque lost from boss intake manifold. Lowered 7/10th's at track and 5 mph at track as well. Install $400

Nice! I know headers only do so much, but wanted to get that done before blower, if I go that route.
