man.. I hate to see anyone ditch a cleveland, one of fords best, but I can understand, new motor and all, first the cleveland, windsor, 302, 289, etc. all share the same small block bell housing bolt pattern so you could just use the 5 speed and behind the cleveland, but the 79 will have the right small block motor mount towers, not sure exactly on the mounts themselves they should be similar tho, the transfer cases are differnt tho, the 79 will have the cast iron bullet proof np 205, and the newer truck will have an aluminum borg-warner 1356, the newer transfer is chain driven and not as tough, but will handle the 302 and is geared a lot lower and be alot lighter, they both have 31 spline input shafts, but im not sure on length if they will bolt up, but switching everything as a whole will require some fabrication for transmission and transfer case mounts, then you will have to get new drive shafts made, and the newer tranny has an electric speedometer, and the borg warner transfer has an electric shift, but that is no biggie, they make cheap conversion kits to manual, all in all to make the truck more road friendly with the 5-speed and be better on gas it is a worth while up grade but will take a little more than just bolting up.. hope I was a little helpful im sure there are those alot more knowledgable about it than me..
