Cobra Jet Camshafts for the F150 Coyote 5.0
Hi guy's,
I'm new to the forum. I have purchased a Coyote 5.0 out of a 2012 F150. The engine and transmission is going into a 1970 Ford XW Sedan.
I purchased the F150 version of the Coyote mainly because of the lower cost compared to the Mustang version. I know there are some minor differences between both engines. The slightly lower compression was also a determining factor as our fuel quality over here in Australia is not as food as the US fuel.
I was thinking of fitting the Cobra Jet intake and exhaust cams to the engine and was wondering if anyone else has done the swap.
Were there any noticeable power gains? Theoretically there should 50 - 60Hp maybe more with a good custom tune.
As the engine is not going into a truck any loss of low down torque should be negated by the lower curb weight of my vehicle compared to the F150 and I wont be towing anything either.
Look forward to your thoughts and experiences.
