Add me to the list of replaced 5.0's
I have a 2012 with 37,300 miles on it. 5 weeks ago it started knocking fairly loud when cold started but would go away when accelerator was tapped. Over the next 2 weeks it got worse and would take longer to go away. However it always seemed to get quieter when it got hot. Through all of this it ran fine. Took it to my local dealer and they let it sit overnight and started it cold in the morning. Told me the sound was definitely bad and was coming from the lower end. They ordered and replaced the long block. Only hang up was it took 12 days to get the engine from Ford. After they installed the new engine, while on the test drive it threw a code for a clogged catalytic converter. They replaced the converter and gave me the truck back after 3 weeks with it. On the ride home the check engine light flashed for 3-5 minutes then went out. Took it back and was told the code was for micro misfires. They cleared the code and test drove it with no repeats. Said it was probably grease or moisture on an ignition connection. Been 2 days now and all seems fine...but still a little nervous. This is my 4th F150 and the worst problem I've ever had before was a bad mass airflow sensor.

Here is my video from this weekend. Did yours sound like this?
I have 75,500 miles on my 2012 but I have the extended warranty for 100,000 miles.
