5 star tune
Anybody here got the 5star tune for their 5.0? Just wondering if its worth it and how your guyses trucks are holding up. Any body got dyno sheets? The tune will void the warranty correct?

I've got their 87 octane econo, perf, and tow tunes. I've seen very noticable improvements. Definitely scoots. Mpg is slighty better even in the perf tune. I use that one as my daily driver tune. I'll see how it compares to my stock highway figures in the next couple of Weeks when I take a few hundred mile trip to the hill country.

Follow up to my previous post:
On my trip, highway mileage was ~ .5 mpg less in the performance (19.6 mpg, averaging 75 mph). This could also be due some to the type of terrain traveled. I don't see much on a need to switch back and forth. I love the added zip and firmer shifts that I get in the performance tune. Sometimes I feel it "hangs" a little longer in 3rd before it downshifts at low speeds, but overall it works out great.

Loaded my 87 octane performance/tow tune this past week. Will be towing a 6000# travel trailer later in the week. This tune is has more bottom and shifts through the gears as quickly as the stock tune, but with less lugging. It is a little less throttle responsive as it doesn't downshift, or hold the gears, like the performance only tune. It does, however, feel like it with get the job done while pulling the TT in tow/haul mode. Can't wait to try in out. I'll give an update at the end of the week.

Towed the travel trailer about 240 miles to the Texas Hill Country. Used the Perf/Tow tune, in combination with Tow/Haul mode. This tune gives me about 20-25 ft-lbs more torque than stock. I did end up locking out 6th, as the extra load had it "hunting" too much between the OD gears. I as able to stay in 5th on the gentle rises, but it did drop down into 4th, and even 3rd, on the steeper ones to maintain 60-65 mph. I averaged 10.2 mpg (a/c on) while towing. I was hoping to make it into the teens, but I can't complain. I love the engine braking in Tow/Haul and rarely braked very hard to safely stop when needed. I love the factory TBC. It does an excellent job of brake control. I eliminates the "grabby" feel when pulling up slowly at traffic stops. After coming from driving a heavily modded F250 7.3 diesel to an F150, I am very well pleased with 5 Star Tuning's performance, with/without a load, and the F150's ability to "hold its own".

Ive been 5* tuned close to a year now and its been great. Im currently running a 93 octane race tune, have been for about 4 months, I get better gas millage on the race tunes than any other. I also have tunes from MPT, these two people are the best in my opinion. Canned tunes on the programmers are nothing compared to the custom dyno proven tunes you can get. Totally worth the money.
Yes it will void warranty.
