Default valve terrain failure

Hello all. New here. I took ownership of non running 97 f150 with a 4.6L. Before I did anything I decided to do a compression check. drivers side all had around 150 PSI. All cylinders on the passenger side had ZERO psi for compression. Thinking this was odd, I decided to pull the valve cover. I found all eight of what I'm assuming are the roller rockers? laying loose on top of the head with some what looked like plastic chucks and a random nut was laying in there? What the heck would cause all eight of these things to just fall out? I can slip the rocker back and its really loose and floppy. One of them is cracked. I am not an engine guru, but I can usually figure things out with some insight.
