Default Timing Issues

I had to replace the crank on my 4.6 romeo. I goofed pretty bad and didnt set the timing before dismantling. How do I get the timing right in the heads? I have the block at TDC, but what now??

Default Timing an Engine

If you are good enough to change out a Crank, then you can set the timing.
Just follow the same steps that someone building up a complete engine would do.
Set the piston at TDC; Done.
Set the cams; You can rotate the cam and watch the correct valve stem movement.
Then mount the timing chain, belt, gears per spec. All the engines that I have ever rebuilt were done this way. I would find the spec in my manuals, ie: Chiltons and Haynes.
You can find the torque values also.

I always get both since each one covers certain areas in greater detail than the other. Many libraries have these books if you don't care to buy your own.
