2013 F150 w/ 3.7 Transmission
Love the truck, hate the transmission. I want to drive it in tow/haul mode as the way it hesitates at times and shift funny drives me crazy. Drives smooth on open road, stop and go it's not right. Took it into dealer and they downloaded something but it did not change a thing. Anyone else have same shifting/hesitation experience with newer truck?
Thanks

Something is not right there. I have 3 new vehicles I drive, the F150 has the shrpest throttle and best response.

I have a 2013 F-150 Supercrew XLT. 3.7, RWD, 373 rear end. Transmission does the same exact thing, driving slow (like in parking lots) very harsh shift from 1 to 2, and back down. Also, from parked, position, when shirting from park to drive or reverse, harsh clunk. Poor design on the transmission? All the dealer did was reset the TCM and PCM. Back to the same thing right now, I have only 19,900 miles on it. Very upsetting. Love the truck except for this problem. There are some TSB's covering the issue, however, the 2013 year model not included. I am about to get Ford Motor Company involved. They should want to help all the customers who bought these things. After 21 years and three Dodge RAM trucks, starting to question my decision to buy a Ford.

IF I drive it like grandma, it is hardly noticeable these days...Twice I have mentioned it to my local dealer and they say nothing is wrong. I am past 36k warranty now. Hoping if there are problems, it will be prior to the drivetrain warranty expires.

I finally called Ford Motor Company. I thought a regional service manager would call me. Nope, just an email telling me of how the dealership has tried to step up and never even heard my side of the story. Terrible Customer Service. I replied with a very long and detailed e-mail of the exact dates and times I have had my truck into the dealership, and how my issues has been ignored. I also left her a voice mail to return my call. Nothing. The dealership service department did call me two days ago and wants and needs me to bring the truck in ASAP. I refuse to pay for a loaner vehicle when my truck is under warranty...not a good ownership experience from Ford. I must wait until next week to drop off my truck. We'll see what happens.

I have a 3.7 supecab with 3.73 and just got a SCT Livewire+ tuner with a few custom tunes from Stage 3 and the shifting has changed dramatically. I used to want to drive in Tow/Hall all the time because I liked the shif points better, but this tuner thing tamed the transmission pretty good. Also gives the engine a tad bit more torque and power which helps. It's $600 though. I think you can get a simpler tuner unit with the same custom tunes quite a bit cheaper, they just don't have the cool looking head unit with the informative gauges.

Trans issue
I have a 2013 STX supercab 3.7 also. I didn't notice that shift issue in my tranny, but I purchased an SCT tuner for performance reasons and that has changed my shift points. It's an expensive fix, $400-$600, but it may help. And you will get some nice added low end torque. I installed the SCT tuner (external one that sits on dashboard) from Stage 3, a larger throttle body, air intake, and the 3.7 has come to life nicely. It was just expensive. So...in conclusion the tuner enables you to change the shift points so that might be the route to go. Up to you.
